mINDFUL YOGA & SOUND HEALING RETREAT,
OCTOBER 21-22, 2017 -- cancelled
I will hold a weekend residential retreat October 21-22, 2017 at the wonderful Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus in Woodstock, Illinois.
Susan Wilkens of Dancing Cranes Yoga will join me to provide sound healing with her Gong during savasana in all Yoga sessions and during Yoga Nidra on Saturday night.
Your investment (includes DOUBLE OR SINGLE OCCUPANCY rooms, three vegetarian meals, and four Yoga sessions) is $315.00 for a single room and double occupancy is $295.00.
THERE IS A $125.00 CANCELLATION FEE IF NOTIFIED IN WRITING BEFORE SEPTEMBER 7, 2017. DUE TO RETREAT CENTER PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS THERE ARE NO REFUNDS AFTER THAT DATE.
Yoga and Meditation both arise from the same nutrients: the development of concentration, mindful attention to the present moment, and compassion. Take time away from your busy schedule to indulge in Radical Self-Care and stillness in this residential retreat that will integrate and enliven body-mind-spirit.
Sound healing is an ancient method for taking the mind into a place of peace and relaxation, allowing the body to repair, heal, and re-tune its vibratory rate. One of the most beautiful instruments for creating this effect is the Gong. Sound is vibration that causes resonance and rhythm in our bodies, and because the Gong covers the full spectrum of sound it resonates all cells of the body simultaneously in a most powerful and effective way. The Gong is an energy generator with inherent power to transform an individual even on the molecular level. Susan will play a 34" Paiste Symphonic gong during savasana and during Yoga Nidra.
We will have three Yoga sessions on Saturday and one on Sunday morning. The Yoga sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings will incorporate both movement and stillness with Yang (slow flow movement) and Yin (stillness) asanas. Saturday afternoon will be an all Yin yoga practice. Saturday night will be a 60 minutes Yoga Nidra (Yoga Sleep) practice with Sound Healing throughout.
The Yin style encourages stagnant chi to flow throughout the joints and balances the organ and meridian systems. The Yang practice will encourage ease and grace in a moving meditation. Through a practice of Mindful Yoga we can enter the stillness at the heart of movement and experience the energy that moves in stillness.
